I have some chinese font files that I can not get to work in my Windows
CE 4.20 platform.

The fonts are downloaded to Windows CE and added with AddFontResource.
Then, when I try to use the font in WordPad the font has another name
(look like garbage) than it has under Windows XP. Also, when I type
something, the cursor moves forward but nothing is displayed. I can get
some characters displayed with Alt+xxx method but it seems like the
wrong character is displayed.

I also have some chinese fonts that do work, like SimSun, SimHei and MS
Song.
The fonts that do not work thay all have chinese names (UNICODE names),
like 華康儷楷書 (dfft-j5.ttf).

Is there something missing in my platform ?
Or does WinCE not support these fonts?

Please if anyone can give me some hint about this.

Hi Leif,

I have a few questions about your device setup:
1. What kind of font are you trying to use? ClearType fonts, for example,
don't work for CE.
2. What locale are you running for your CE image?
3. Can you confirm if the actual filename for the font is Unicode and not
ASCII?
4. Where is the font on the device? Is it in the flat release directory or
on the actual device?

Thanks,
Leslie Trowbridge
